In the Beginning
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
In some ways this is one of the very most important verses in the Bible. God makes the very bold statement that all of creation is not an accident as so many have tried to prove, but is infact something that is unmistakably evident in all that is around us. Even some of today's most celebrated scientists such as Albert Einstein have now said that there has indeed been a beginning for all creation and then he added that what scares him most is that if there is a beginning there must be an end.
On March 8th in 2014 Stephen Hawkins surprised the scientific community when he announced during a speech at the University of Cambridge that he believed that some form of intelligence was actually behind the creation of the universe.This factor he calls the God Factor. What Hawkins, Einstein and multitudes of others from the beginning of time can not deny is the look of a little child when a little flower is given to them and see their face light up. Even children know that something as simple as a little flower can not be an accident. Creation is too complex to have had it happened by accident! If we to ask any scientist if they felt that it was possible for something to come from nothing they would admit it is impossible. They always start with the assumption that there is that something that all things come from. Well where does the something come from we might ask them. They can not tell us or won’t admit their thinking is flawed. God’s creation shows design, everything goes from the complex to the simple and not the other way away around. If it does why do all my brand new beautiful cars keep turning into a rusty piece of junk? There is intelligence seen in creation. There is common sense of guilt. Why should everyone feel guilt if there is no one that is without guilt? Why have people for thousands of years believed in some god, if there is no God?
If science is correct in saying that everything comes about by accident or even evolution, why don’t they just find a job that will be productive for society because everything they are trying to do will come about on its own! Of course even they know this won’t happen. John 1:1-5 tells us that, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”1:14 tells us that, “That the Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
For those who seek the answers in life, the Bible tells us that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. (Jn 14:6) We have not, because we ask not. (James 4:2)
Jesus has the answers to your questions. All you have to do is ask! All he asks is that you give him a try. What do you have to lose?
Prayer: Lord Jesus give us the courage to seek you while we still can. Show us that you are real and that you really do love us and are the Savior of the World!
