JESUS HAS ALL AUTHORITY ON EARTH AND IN HEAVEN
Numbers 6:22-27 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace’.” So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.
Are you a blesser, a cursor or neither? Are you a person with the glass half full or half empty? I tend to be the latter. It is not that I am negative on life in general, but it is just the way I am. And like Popeye the Sailor, I certainly am what I am! My family would most certainly agree to that. And it is not necessarily a bad thing in many ways. We are all different. Maybe part of my attitude is spiritual. I see myself as continually in battle with Satan and the powers of darkness.
Ephesians 6:10-20 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me that whenever I open my mouth words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly as I should.” Because of this I am constantly watching for the powers of darkness to strike out against myself, my family, friends, the church and the world in general. I believe that we are living in the last days before the time of the tribulation that Jesus says will happen before his return. I know that people have been saying this for thousands of years, but Jesus also talked about the ten virgins and five that were not ready when the bridegroom came. (Matt 25:1-13) I know I want to be ready and not left behind. And if that means constantly watching well, what am I to do but be watching! Watching for me, my loved ones and for you.
When I was called into the ministry I was reading Ezekiel 2,3, where it talks about Ezekiel’s call to ministry. God basically told him that if he warned the people of their evil ways and they did not repent then they would be accountable. If he didn’t tell the people to turn from their evil ways, then he would be accountable. Well, that cut right to my heart and has ever since. I am not saying that I think God will send me to hell for not telling people to repent and turn to Jesus. I am just saying I don’t want them to go to hell! Well, one of the things I do every day in regards to this is to pray. I prays God will bless me, my family, my loved ones, the church, his servants (certainly my pastor and those that serve at the church I go to), our leaders, our country and the world. Then with the remaining time of retirement I pray in tongues. Oh, I still take out the trash, mow the lawn and a few other minor things too if you were wondering and chances are you were not.
Back to so serious stuff, I pray blessings on all these matters! Matthew 18:18 says, “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
What Jesus is saying is that because we belong to him, if we tell Satan and the powers of darkness that they can not bother us today, then Jesus will make them not bother us today! If we ask Jesus to bless our grandchildren with a wonderful day at school, then Jesus will help them have a wonderful day at school. After all James 4:2 reminds us that we have not because we ask not. It is certainly not Jesus fault if we don’t have things, because we are too proud to ask him for them. All he asks of his Bride is to use our free will regarding his authority. I have personally seen Jesus cast out demons in front of me. Heal people immediately in front of me. I have seen Jesus bring two people that were declared brain with no hope of life to have their brains come back to life. I have seen a young man who had his head broke open with his brain exposed to dirt and air and be out of the hospital in three weeks perfectly normal. I have seen and held a little baby that had it’s head crushed and had five crack in its skull that the doctor told me was literally dying in my arms, not only live, but after a medivac helicopter trip to Louisville, Kentucky personally heard three doctors dumfounded say that there was nothing wrong with the baby. The doctor that told me the baby was dying in my arms personally showed me the x-rays of its skull and the five large cracks! Well, do I believe that Jesus has all power and authority on earth as well as in heaven? I sure do!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for the way you constantly intervene in the lives of your Bride. We we’ll be eternally grateful and love you for it!
