IT ALL STARTS WITH SURRENDER

Job 22:21-30 Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. If you return to the almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from you tent and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines, then the Almighty will be your gold, the choices silver for you. Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. When men are brought low and you say, “Lift them up!” Then he will save the downcast. He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.

Wow, that was a lot to put down for the scripture verse, but I needed to hear it again and I am sure that I will continue to need to hear it again and again. Why is it so important you ask? Well, I am glad you asked me that, because I was just about to tell you anyway. Ha! I plan to take it step by step just like we go through life day by day.

Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. There is no other way we can relate to God and do it correctly than to submit to God. As long as we want to call the shots in our life and controlling things, then the Lord is really not our God at all! We are! God will allow us to do this and always will even once we are in heaven, because he has committed himself to respect our free will.

There can only be one God in our life as God sees it, and it must be him alone! Down through time there have been many gods in many forms cast and formed. With Hinduism there are millions of gods. Buddhism almost everything is made up of God. While other religions may have people that are very devoted to their gods and even are willing to die for them, it doesn’t make them real. Only the Lord God is the one true God Almighty. Until we submit to him alone we will not have peace with him.

People can practice Yoga and deep meditation to calm their emotions and thoughts and experience what they call inner peace, but this peace is temporary at very best and only deceives a person into thinking that this inner peace brings peace with God. They are not the same! Doing these things goes beyond self discipline and having a calming effect, but will allow demonic spirits to enter a person giving them a sense of being in the presence of God. This peace is not eternal peace. Any peace that we have to bring about is not eternal! Only when we humble ourselves by coming to the Lord submitting to do his will, will he allow eternal peace to fill us. It is not nor can it ever be a matter of yes - but Lord. There is no way but Lord in surrender! We never have to worry that God will take advantage of us. Why should he? God is sovereign and doesn’t need us for anything! The only reason he allows us to know and love him is that he loves us. When we submit to the Lord as being our God, our boss, all of a sudden we have taken away any need for God to hold any good back from us. God has always wanted to bless us, but he could not as long as we were living in rebellion to him. If God rewarded our rebellion, we would never get right with him! We would continue to do exactly what we wanted and that always starts with I - Me - Mine! Tomorrow I will start with verse 22.

Prayer: Lord, we don’t want to return to wanting our will to be done for our life. We have tried that and only messed it up time and again. There has not been one person that has ever tried to master their life and had the wonderful life that they could have had if they would have trusted you to take charge of their life. We know that only by surrendering to you can we have true victory in our life. Our prayer is that of Jesus. Heavenly Father, let your will be done in our life.
