OH, WE CAN TRUST JESUS!
Isaiah 16:5 In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it - one from the house of David - one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness.
Sometimes the world will remind us that there are many ways to being right with God. They are wrong! In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” If there are other ways to find forgiveness and eternal life with God then Jesus is a liar, and nothing he said can be trusted. If all the prophecy that was given by God from the time of Adam and Eve was not from God and were not fulfilled by Jesus then the Bible is a lie. If all the miracles that Jesus did were simply lies then even non followers like the Roman military were deceived. If his resurrection was a lie and he couldn’t appear and disappear and yet be touch as a normal person might, and if 500 people really didn’t see him at one time, then maybe Jesus was just a normal person and the greatest deceiver all time. And yet if Jesus was just a normal person and didn’t do all that the Bible claims of him, common sense tells us that after 2,000 years people would no longer believe such lies. The thing is people continue to believe in Jesus , because everything the Bible says about him is true, and he alone can provide forgiveness of sins and eternal life the God in heaven! Could it be a coincidence that Isaiah would make a prophecy about the Messiah that would fit Jesus so perfectly? No I don’t think so. God put on Isaiah’s heart to write this, because God intended to fulfill it. God wants us to have reason to believe and trust in Jesus. It is not a matter I hope, I hope, I hope. God said it and Jesus did it, so why shouldn't we believe in him? People can make up all kind of different ideas to get themselves to heaven, but only God decides how we will find forgiveness and reconciliation with him. This is why God was so specific and difficult in the fulfillment of the prophecy regarding his promised salvation for us.
God’s salvation for us came from God, and not from ourselves. It is by faith in the grace of Jesus’ atonement that we receive our forgiveness and reconciliation. And this came to us because God established it by his love for us. John 3:16 tells us, “God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, and that whosoever believes in him shall not die but have everlasting life.” One God, one Savior, brought salvation because of his love, and desire to give forgiveness and eternal life. God didn’t save us just from hell, he saved us for himself. It wasn't because he had too, it was because he wanted too. God established our relationship with him in love!
Jesus is not only faithful to the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit, but to us as well. II Timothy 1;12 tells us Paul was convinced that Jesus is able to guard what he has entrusted to for that day. Jesus didn’t go to the cross just to give up on us, because of our humanity. Jesus came for us in spite of our humanity. As long as we put our hope and trust in him, Jesus will make sure we go to be with him when we die or get raptured up.
I Thessalonians 5:23,24 tells us, “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. Jesus is just in doing this because he took our past, present and even future sins upon himself as he atoned for our sins. In Jesus satisfying the punishment for sin, he also sanctified us making us holy in God’s sight as he is holy. Because Jesus never sinned himself and never had the carnal nature, being God he is more than able to atone for the sins of all humanity in his righteousness and justice.
What other person could do this? None! Not even an angel could do this, because they are created being as people are. They are limited beings and incapable of taking the sins of the world on themselves. Only God could do what he did when he atoned for the sins of all humanity. As you see God did establish his throne in love, and Jesus was and always will be faithful in completing what he has provided for us. If you have asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart, you can be assured that you are forgiven and going to heaven. The only thing you can do to not bring this about is to stop trusting and loving Jesus, and why would you do that? Rejoice in the Lord and again I say rejoice!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for loving us so much that you would come and atone for our sins. We love you Jesus. Please bring us unto our salvation, that we might love and worship you as long as we exist.
