DON’T BE DECEIVED, GOD’S PROPHECY IS TRUE
Isaiah 29:5b-8 Suddenly, in an instant, the Lord Almighty will come with thunder an earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of devouring fire. Then the hordes of all the nations that fight against Ariel, that attack her, will be a it is with a dream, with a vision in the night - as when a hungry man dreams that he is eating, but he awakens, and his hunger remains; as when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he awakens faint, with his thirst unquenched. So will it be with the hordes of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion.
Zechariah speaks of this in Zec 14. He says that all the nations will gather to fight against Jerusalem. They will capture the city, ransack the houses and rape the women. Half the city will go into exile, but leaving the other half to stay there. At this time the Lord will return and fight against those nations. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives and it will split in two from the east to the west. It will form a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. When the Lord comes he will bring all the holy ones with him. It will be a unique day without daytime or nighttime. When evening comes, there will be light. On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in the winter. At that time the Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.
Revelation 19:11-21 also talks in detail about the return of Jesus as the conquering Messiah. It says he will come on a white horse and will be called Faithful and True. His eyes will be like blazing fire and have many crowns on his head. His robe will be covered in blood, and the armies of heaven will be following him. He will strike down the nations that come against Israel and he will rule them with an iron scepter. He comes in the wrath of Almighty God, and on his thigh he has this name: KIng of Kings and Lord of Lords. There will be great loss of life and the antichrist and false prophet will be thrown into hell.
So why does the world continue to attack Israel when they know the prophecy that is before them? We see in Isaiah 29:10 that the Lord has brought over them a deep sleep: He has sealed their eyes (the prophets); he has covered their heads (the seers). Daniel 7:25 tells us that the antichrist will try to change the set times and the laws. He will try to outsmart the Lord by avoiding prophecy, but the Lord will use it against him. The antichrist will think that he has avoided any return of Jesus, but the Lord’s prophecy will come about just as it was given. Just as Satan and the powers of darkness continue to fight against the Lord, so will the antichrist and his empire he has set up. But just as the Lord knows the thoughts of Satan, so he does the antichrist. They only deceive themselves in thinking they can be victorious over the Lord. Before they begin to move the Lord has already begun they defeat.
The plans of the world and that of Satan and the powers of darkness are in vain. As Christians we have nothing to fear, because we are on the winning side. While Satan, the powers of darkness and even the world may try to convince us otherwise they are the ones that are wrong. Keep your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ no matter what and you will not be sorry.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, please keep us strong, courageous, not discouraged or terrified just as Moses and Joshua were told. Please surround us with your holy angels and empower us with the Holy Spirit. Please help us not to be deceived by the false prophet, but keep our eyes on you and your word. We ask this in you holy name.
