GOT PROBLEMS?

Psalms 18:1-3 I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

King David of Israel was a man of great fame. Even today he is still highly remembered by Jews all over the world. David set up a kingdom for his son Solomon that Solomon made into one of the greatest kingdoms of his day. But it didn't come easy for David either in the physical or spiritual since. David’s great blessings that God gave him as a leader and military fighter also brought years of running for his life, both from foreigners and even his own king and his army.

King Saul was very jealous of David. While he wanted David’s help to defeat his enemies, David’s popularity for doing it threatened his being king and also any of his descendants taking the throne. People would sing that King Saul had killed his thousands, but David his ten thousands. And while David became the people’s hero, he at the same time became the King's enemy. Many times Saul tried to kill David, but God’s blessing and protection was always on David. Time and again Saul’s army was close to closing in on David to kill him and his men, but God would somehow get David free.

In our life we often face enemies that like with David we did nothing to bring the hatred about. Most often the powers of darkness will use people to do their evil against God’s anointed. As Ephesians 6:10-18 tells reminds us that our struggles are not against this world and the people in it, but rather from the powers of darkness.

Remember as King David knew that his strength and deliverance came not from himself, but from the Lord. When we pray God moves. Our strength is not in our prayers, but the one who answers our prayers. At the name of Jesus, God will willing to move mountains and fill valleys. What are you up against today? If you are a Christian you have Jesus on your side. James 4:2 tells us that we have not because we ask not. Trust Jesus today he will not let you down!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for being all that we need. We love you Jesus!
