GOD’S INSPIRATION IS AMAZING

Psalms 40:6-8 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced, (the Hebrew Septuagint - but a body you have prepared for me) burnt offerings you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am. I have come - it is written about me in the scroll. To do your will, O my God, is my desire; your law is written within my heart.

The inspiration of God is amazing to me. God can have us do something, say something or go somewhere, and we may or may not realize it is God using us to do things for him. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I will call my mother or our daughter and they will say I was just thinking about you. Then sometimes it is the other way around. Many times I have been in prayer for our daughter and at the exact time I was bringing her before the Lord, she would call me on the phone. Once the Lord put on my heart to visit someone that had a hard cold heart towards Jesus. I had talked to him several times before but he never wanted to receive Jesus as his savior. So before going I asked the Lord for a sign if he really wanted me to confront this man after several times of rejection. I asked the Lord to have him sitting on his back patio drinking a glass of ice tea and then have him ask me to sit with him and offer me some ice tea. I didn’t want to find myself giving pearls to the pigs so to speak. Usually when he would see me he would just leave. So I prayed driving over to see him in tongues that the Lord might prepare his heart.

When I pulled up into his drive he was sitting on his patio. As I walked up he offered me to sit down and have some tea with him. He didn’t ask if I was there to see his wife or anyone else. So as we talked and drank our tea, I shared with him how I had prayed before coming to see him. He smiled and didn’t say a thing. As I shared the love and salvation of Jesus to him one more time, I really thought that he would go on and become a Christians, but he didn’t. I thought, “Had I heard the Lord wrong?” The Lord reassured that I hadn’t. Jesus wanted to give him one last chance. I really don’t know if he ever became a Christian after I went to another church to serve the Lord, but I was blessed to think that God would want to try one last time to gather up his lost lamb in his arms.

Jesus wasn’t looking for a lamb to sacrifice as Satan might, because Satan comes to rob, destroy and even kill. Jesus came at his Heavenly Father’s request to be the sacrificial Lamb of God. The Holy Spirit prepared a body for him in Mary, and he was pierced for our sins. The condemnation and punishment we deserved was placed on him as he hung on Calvary’s cross. I am sure that King David didn’t understand the full significance of what he had written regarding Jesus’ passion for us, but God had him write it for you, me and multitudes of others. Today God is constantly on the move to work and do through people all over the world. He will use Christians and non-Christians like he did Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Peter and Paul.

If you want to be used by the Lord to glorify Jesus all you have to do is volunteer. He will not have you do something that you don’t want to do or can not do. Anything he asks of you to do, he will help you with. It is a great honor to be used of the Lord.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Heavenly Father, and Holy Spirit, thank you for the many times that you have used me to touch another person for Jesus. Please use us in anyway, as much as you like. We ask this in Jesus’ holy name.
