DON’T COMPLAIN IF YOU DON’T PRAY ABOUT IT
Psalms 55:16,17 But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
Do you have times and possibly places that you set aside every day to talk to the Lord? I do and have for many years. Daniel did and so have many other people that have had a personal intimate relationship with the Lord. If we don’t, we tend to let the day and situations dictate to us our prayer life. Satan, the powers of darkness, the world and even ourselves will find ways of putting off what we know in our heart is important and even necessary for us, our loved ones and even the world. Yes, I did say that our time with the Lord can and will influence the world. Whether it is Christians or non Christians, when we bring them before the Lord he moves on them. We can not make God do things that he doesn’t want to do, and we never want to intentionally try to do that. But when we pray that the Lord will stop the terrorism, killings, rape, slavery and so on. You might say, “But they are still going on!” Yes, but think what it might be like if we didn’t pray, or if every Christian did pray wholeheartedly that God would stop it completely!
James 4:2 tells us that we have not because we ask not. God will always respect our free will. He has committed himself to doing that in order that we might be able to love him. Jesus said that he will give us the keys to his kingdom. Matthew 16:19 says, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” In this Jesus has given us his authority and backing. As the Bride of Christ our influence with Jesus, the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit is great. It is ironic that almost all Christians, pastor’s included just don’t see it that way. They see themselves as on the defensive, running for their life trying to stay away from Satan, the powers of darkness, and the evil of this world. It is like we have the most powerful weapon there is and we are afraid of what evil might do. In reality it is Satan, and the powers of darkness that are afraid of even the youngest Christian that stands in the authority of Jesus.
Well, what if I pray wrong about something? God will always do what is right no matter how we pray. He knows the intent of our heart, and he would never do something that was wrong. Even when God has to correct someone it is always done for their good. I always feel confident that no matter how I pray that God will always answer for the best. This is why I can accept the answer however it may come back. The reality is that if we do not pray about everything we shouldn’t be upset if God doesn’t act.
Remember you don’t have to pray out loud for the Lord to hear your. John 14:17-23 reminds us that the Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus all dwell in us. They know what we are thinking, but they are waiting for us to have faith and ask. Remember we have not, because we ask not. The Lord is wanting to do great things for you, but you need to use your free will and ask.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for wanting to answer our prayers. You are a wonderful God, and we rejoice that you will always do what is right. Please glorify yourself in answering our prayers. We ask this in your holy name.
