Psalms 73:23,24 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, “I am going away and I am coming back to you.” In some ways if a person didn’t know that these two verses were so many years apart, you might think the same person wrote both of them. Yet, this is really what happened. Jesus is the Word of God. He spoke these very words to Asaph knowing that he would also speak the to his apostles and to us.
Many people want to discredit Jesus and the Bible. They say how it is just writings of men, and there is no real proof that any of it is true. Yet, even these verses shout out the reality that God has given us good reason to believe in the Bible as the inspired word of God, and it can be trusted to lead us into a saving relationship with God Almighty. It is only is brought into disbelief when there is a concentrated effort to deny it. Not only does the Bible verify it’s inspiration from God, but the fulfillment of the reality to which it is true also points to the truthfulness of it. For any Christian that is born again and filled with the Holy Spirit there is a personal experience that verifies the reality of it. When a person becomes a Christian the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Heavenly Father come within them. (Jn 14:15-24) God is no longer just with us, but is in us. God begins to affirm Jesus’ salvation through signs and wonders. He will answer our prayers, guide us into wisdom both of this world and in the spiritual realm as well. He begins to transform us into ever increasing amounts of God’s glory making us more and more like Jesus. We begin to grow in an intimate relationship that goes far beyond words and what the world can know or relate to.
The assurance of our salvation and the love of God for us sets in motion an eternal presence with God.
God becomes our Comforter in times of sorrow. Advocate in times of weakness. Counselor in times of confusion. And Savior in times of hopelessness. The world is full of people that mock the Bible and hope in a God. But the fact still remains in the fulfillment of scripture. If a person wants to believe there is more than enough evidence pointing to the reality of God, and salvation through his Son Jesus Christ. For those who don’t want to believe God has provided a veil to cover their eyes. For these people there is no use in trying to help to them. They will only mock you, and your efforts to help them. But for those that want to believe the pearls you have for them will be as bread to a starving person.
Don’t feel like you have to apologize to anyone concerning your belief and love for Jesus. You are right, and they are the ones that are wrong. You will have eternal life with God in heaven, and they will have eternal torment in hell.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, Heavenly Father, and Lord Jesus, thank you so much for your confirmation of your word. You are a wonderful God to help us to believe, and put our trust in you. We love you Lord.
