AND THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE SO SMART

Psalms 78:13 He divided the sea and led them through; he made the water stand firm like a wall.

There are many people that do not believe this. Even some Christians do not believe it. People say that it doesn’t make since and is an impossibility. Others in order to help make the event more possible they say that the crossing took place through a swamp call the Sea of Reeds. Exodus 14:19-31 tells the story as it happened. Moses tells of how the Lord drove the the sea back with a strong east wind and turned the sea to dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. When the Egyptian army tried to pursue they had difficulty, and even the Egyptians wanted to get away from the Israelites. But after the Hebrews had crossed over the water came crashing down on the Egyptian army killing them and their horses.

Moses even tells of how he saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore, and how this even caused the Hebrews to fear the Lord. This could not have happened if they just went through a swamp. Just because something is too hard for us to do or understand doesn’t make it not so. In the book “The Gold of Exodus” Howard Blum shows pictures of what is commonly called a land bridge that extends across the Strait of Tiran toward Saudi Arabia crossing the Red Sea. The picture even shows a ocean going ship that had become grounded on it.

What people feel is impossible is certainly not so with God. The arrogance of so many of the intelligent has to be astounding for God. I Corinthians 1:27 says, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly thing of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boasts in the Lord.””

There will always be people that try to ridicule and mock those who believe in the Bible and in the salvation of Jesus and even God himself. They may be very intelligent in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of God they are very foolish. Don’t let them or anyone else try to shame you into turning from your faith and love in Jesus. In the end they will be the ones that will be proven foolish. Stay true to Jesus no matter what! If you do you will see your reward. No matter what the world may say, the solid rock of Jesus is the only one that will withstand the test of time!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help us to stay true to you no matter what the world may say. We know you said in the end of days that many will turn from you and believe a lie. Please help us, our loved ones and your church to stay true to you. We love you and ask this in your holy name.
