HE WILL GUARD YOU IN ALL YOUR WAYS
Psalms 91:7-16 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling - even the Lord, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me. And I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Life can be terrifying in so many ways. Most of us will not fight in a battle with ten thousand of the enemy to our right. For most of us it doesn’t even have to be cancer. It can be the idea that we just got a notice that we have lost our job, or we have seen mice in our house and we are terrified of them. Terror comes in all kinds of ways. The world has never been the same for most Americans since 9/11 when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the other hijacked airliner. Many innocent people were killed that day, and terrorism is still taking place all over the world. In the Middle East Israelis still live each day wondering if they will be attacked. In Syria and Iraq thousands of innocent people have fled the terrorism of Isis. Just today in Aleppo, Syria thousands of civilians are reported in great danger as two armies fight over control of it. It is a sad time for much of the world.
As sad as it all is this doesn’t have to happen. If people would receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior there would be peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and his life transformation will change the worst of hearts, but a person must be willing to let him do it. For those that choose Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they will have the blessing of his presence along with the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit in their heart. (Jn 14:17-23) They will also have his holy angels about them. The Lord’s watch care and protection will be there for his Bride.
Yes, there will still be tragedies and sorrows in the life of a Christian, but the terrors that face the world will not terrorize them. Their trust in the Lord will give them peace and a sure assurance that everything will be fine. Jesus said that he will not leave us or forsake us even to the end of the age.
Have you received the Prince of Peace into your life? Jesus wants to protect and provide for you. Reach out to Jesus today. He is reaching out to you!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, please surround us with your holy angels. Please keep us safe from Satan, the powers of darkness and the evil of this world. We love you Lord, and ask this in your holy name.
