TEN THINGS TO DO

Psalms 105:1-5 Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.

These are ten things that every Christian should do and do often. They are important for us and for the Lord. They are good for us in that in saying and doing them it reminds ourselves of all that God is and does. It is good for the Lord to hear how we feel about him. God knows our thoughts, but we have a free will and until we use it our thoughts are just thoughts, no more or no less.

Give thanks to the Lord. When we give thanks to the Lord it encourages us to ask for more blessings. Our faith in him begins to exceed any common sense or hope. It also encourages others to trust in the Lord. It exalts all of heaven to join in, and give him thanks too. It reminds Satan and the powers of darkness of our feeling towards the Lord, and how they are lacking in not thanking him for even allowing them to live.

Call on his name. There is no other name under all of heaven that is greater than the name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord. When we pray in Jesus’ name we carry his authority. Jesus even said that whatever we ask in his name we will receive.

Certainly the Heavenly Father and Holy Spirit understand and honor this. Satan and the powers of darkness have to obey at the name of Jesus. They have no authority over the name of Jesus. Jesus is Lord of lords and King of kings. Jesus is God. All things were made by him and for him.

Tell of his wonderful acts, and glory in his wonderful name. When we tell of what the Lord has done it is a source of encouragement for others and ourselves as well. Just to hear of his mighty works motivates us to want to praise him, and exalt his name to the heavens and those on earth.

When we sing songs to the Lord, all of heaven joins in. There is great worship in song going on in heaven. Multitudes of angels and resurrected Christians sing in perfect harmony that eccos across all of heaven. Songs lifting up our love, appreciation and adoration brings excitement in all who hear and participate them. When we look into the face of the Lord we will find love. All our past sins will never be reflected in them at all. We will see only joy and love for us in God’s eyes. While his face will shine like ten thousand suns, they will only draw us deeper into his being.

For those that love and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, there is no question as to if we will be welcomed and loved when we stand before him. God ‘s response will not be measured on what we have done or what we know. It will be based on who we love!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit and Heavenly Father we love you. Thank you for being such a wonderful God. Thank you for all that you have done or ever will do. Thank you for going to Calvary’s cross and raising from the tomb. We could never ask of anything more than to see your love extended to us. We love you Lord.
